Hampsthwaite Church Choir has a long and valued tradition of singing at Sunday services and within the local community.
At one point in the 1990s, the choir was reduced to two members who loyally sang in the choir stalls every Sunday. However, in 2000 the choir was revitalised and immediately gained over 20 members! Ever since then, the choir has remained strong, although going through several changes in leaders, and now has a core membership of 9 children and 5 adults with additional support from ex-members at various times during the year. One of our highlights is the Christmas Service of Nine Lessons and Carols, which is sung to a packed and appreciative congregation every year.
We are a RSCM affiliated choir and we welcome anyone over the age of 7 years, who enjoy singing and wish to worship with the local community of Hampsthwaite.
Choir rehearsals are in the Church Room on Wednesdays: 6.15 - 7.30pm. If you would like to come for a taster session, please come and join us any Wednesday evening.
